Scorcher heats up for runners
August 4, 2012Runners and walkers laced up their best running shoes and braved the heat Saturday morning during the Second Annual Southwestern Scorcher.
Athletes from all over southwest Oklahoma gathered at Southwestern Medical Center and had their pick of a 5k or 10k. All proceeds from this event will help support Lawton’s J Roy Dunning Children’s Home—reason enough many participants said they decided to make the run despite the grueling heat.
